Browser anyar ini memiliki beberapa fitur yang diandalkan. Namun fitur yang paling unik dari Opera 11 adalah dengan fitur tab stacking, di mana pengguna bisa membuka tab sebanyak-banyaknya tanpa membuat sebuah jendela browser menjadi terlihat berantakan.
Tab-tab tadi bisa ditumpuk dalam satu kelompok sehingga satu jendela browser bisa terlihat lebih rapi dan lebih mudah diatur. Tab stacking adalah fitur pengembangan yang dibuat oleh Opera dalam hal tab management, sebagaimana Mozilla dengan fitur Panorama pada Mozilla Firefox teranyarnya.
Selain tab stacking, Opera 11 juga menyediakan fitur ekstensi dan mouse gesture. Saat ini sudah ada lebih dari 200 ekstensi di Opera 11. Beberapa ekstensi populer antara lain ekstensi pemblokir iklan NoAds, ekstensi pengunduh YouTube fastesttube, dan ekstensi pengelola password LastPass.
Sementara fitur mouse gesture memungkinkan pengguna melakukan navigasi dengan shortcut tetikus. Misalnya saja saat hendak kembali ke halaman terdahulu, pengguna cukup menahan klik kanan tetikus lalu menggerakkannya ke kiri lalu melepaskan tombol tetikus yang ditekan.
Walaupun dibantah oleh pendirinya, Jon von Tetzchner, namun, dari sisi tampilannya Opera 11 ini sangat mirip dengan tampilan Google Chrome. Hanya saja Opera masih mempertahankan satu tombol menu scroll di sebelah pojok kiri atas yang menyediakan berbagai fitur lama Opera.
